We learned some amazing things about Bowness Park today! The students wanted me to share this video about it. You might recognize some things that are still there today!
Upcoming Events We are so excited for the upcoming holiday season! Even though many of our traditions will look different this year, we will be hosting several events to help keep our spirits high and enjoy the holiday season. Festive Wear Week: December 14 - 17 Students are encouraged to show their festive spirit by wearing their Christmas sweaters, hats, elf ears, reindeer antlers, headbands, Santa hats, or any other accessories! Winter Celebration: December 16 The link for families to view the Tuscany School Winter Celebration will be available on December 16. Pajama Party: December 17 Come dressed in your pajamas for a cozy last day of classes before the break. We will also be watching Charlotte's Web so please send in a movie snack for your child.
Pond Dip We had an amazing adventure down to Two-Toed pond on Monday afternoon. We didn't catch quite as many bugs as I had hoped but we still found some great little critters. Students had a chance to take on the role of entomologists and used their "isolation chambers," magnifying glasses, and identification sheet to help them learn about these aquatic bugs. We also practiced environmental stewardship by leaving nothing behind, treading lightly, and returning all our catches to the pond. Some of the aquatic creatures we found were damselfly larvae, minnows, backswimmers, boatmen, and a few other critters we haven't identified.
Carnaval The students enjoyed participating in all our amazing Carnaval activities! We went sliding, dog sledding, built ice sculptures, saw Bonhomme, played the spoons, had an upbeat performance from Folklofolie, decorated our windows, and made our own Ceinture Flechees! It was a wonderful week celebrating French-Canadian culture!
